Gianluca works together with a team of over 30 leading experts in their field spread across 8 industries in Art and Luxury Goods. Many of Palterna’s team already run highly successful global businesses and have done for many decades and in some cases are multi-generational family businesses.

Gianluca and his team work with many of the world’s leading gallery and brand owners and specialist dealers and help private clients, family offices and corporates and museum clients, to build the very best collections of art, diamonds and gemstones, jewellery and cars and acquire other rare assets like yachts, jets, helicopters, memorabilia, wine, spirits & cigars and precious metals.

Gianluca and his team help art lovers and collectors find works they love and build or enhance their existing collections by acquiring museum quality artworks from the world’s leading paintings, sculptures, antiquities and antiques dealers. These dealers often have 40-60 years of experience in one field and come from multi-generational art dealing families and have sold to many of the world’s major museums, in some cases over 100 museums.

Gianluca and his team not only work with many of the major high jewellery brand owners but also with the renowned manufacturers of the highest quality fancy color diamonds, white colorless diamonds and precious gemstones, whose job is to supply polished stones to the leading jewellery houses and brands. Their knowledge has been acquired for generations and their understanding of the global market stems from their strong presence in the Far East, Europe and the Americas. These mining distributors have bought many of their best stones from the major mines like the Argyle and Cullinan mines.

Gianluca and his automotive team work with many specialist car dealers for classic cars as well as hypercar brand owners in Europe that make a very limited number of high performance cars, which very few people will get the chance to own. Gianluca and his watch team work with many of the leading Swiss and German watch brands and the AHCI independent watchmakers who make less than a few hundred timepieces in total each year. These brands often make unique and bespoke pieces or collections for Palterna’s clients. Gianluca and his jewellery team also work with the owners and global heads of many of the most well known high jewellery brands.

EDUCATION AND EARLY CAREER

Gianluca studied at Highgate School in North London and graduated from University College London in 2011 after studying Economics and Management with a year spent abroad in Milan. Gianluca worked as a precious metals trader for the UK’s largest and only gold refinery, Baird & Co, and with investment funds in a private wealth management capacity managing key clients and working with many GCC families from Qatar and Saudi Arabia in particular, before founding Palterna in 2014.
